May 11, 2007 – LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – Clifford Chance US LLP represented Terra Firma, the European private equity group, in its acquisition of Pegasus Aviation Finance Company “Pegasus” from a partnership of investment funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, LLC and the senior management of the company through Terra Firma> ‘> s aircraft leasing platform, AWAS.

Headquartered in San Francisco, Pegasus is one of the market leaders within the global aircraft leasing sector with a fleet of 82 owned and 94 managed aircraft, and a forward order pipeline of 37 new aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. The aggregate value of the owned fleet and forward order pipeline is over $5 billion.

AWAS was acquired by Terra Firma in March 2006 and has been positioned to become the company’s growth platform in the sector. AWAS, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland currently leases 134 aircraft to 72 airlines across the world.
