May 5, 2004 – LAWFUEL – Charles Russell is to work with highly-regarded Technology, Media & Telecoms specialist Daniel Preiskel.
Daniel is well-known in the international telecoms, IT and media fields and is recognised as a leading practitioner. He will work closely under a consultancy agreement with Charles Russell partner Mark Moncreiffe and the rest of the firm’s TMT team. Charles Russell is ranked as a leading law firm for the telecoms sector, and Mark Moncreiffe is recognised as one of the world’s top telecoms lawyers.
Daniel has particular expertise in the commercial and regulatory aspects of TMT work in the UK and Europe as well as Asia, South America and Africa. He has advised many telecoms companies from those listed on Nasdaq and the NYSE through to start-ups.
He has negotiated various “breakthroughs” with regulators in Europe, and has advised governments on regulation and privatisation, including those in the Czech Republic, Republic of Georgia, Pakistan, Tanzania, Gabon and Bolivia. He also obtained the first ever telecoms licence granted to a competitive telecoms operator in Gibraltar.
Daniel is founder and head of Preiskel & Co LLP, the international telecoms, media and regulatory group, which will also work with Charles Russell under the consultancy agreement. He previously worked as head of telecoms and technology at Altheimer & Gray, and Steptoe & Johnson Rakisons. His team at Preiskel & Co also includes Ronnie Preiskel and Amit Rainhartz.
