Munich, Germany – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Dechert LLP announced today that Berthold Hummel will be joining Dechert as a partner in its Corporate and Securities practice as of January 2006.
Senior Counsel at leading European private equity house 3i Group plc in Frankfurt for the past six years, Berthold focuses on leveraged buyouts and venture capital transactions. He has worked on many high profile European transactions, including advising Germany’s Betapharm GmbH on its €300 million leveraged buy-out, Spain’s Esmalglass S.A. on its €250 million leveraged buy-out and Sweden’s Skanska Services AB on its leveraged buy-out. In Germany, Berthold has recently acted on a number of IPOs including those of Paion and Interhyp.
Prior to joining 3i, Berthold was general counsel at Munich’s Technologieholding VC GmbH. Before that he built up the private equity and venture capital practice of Schürmann & Partners.
