New Partners Enhance the Firm’s Award Winning National Complex Employment and Employee Benefits Litigation Practices

These partners complement Morgan Lewis’ sophisticated capabilities in the areas of class- action employment law and employee benefits litigation.

Charles Jackson and Sari Alamuddin join the firm in Chicago and Christopher Weals joins the firm in Washington, D.C.

Charles Jackson is a prominent member of the Chicago legal community, with 27 years of experience in the labor and employment law arena. He has extensive jury and non-jury trial experience. In addition, his appellate experience includes representing employers six times before the U.S. Supreme Court, and more than 30 times before the various U.S. Courts of Appeal. He is a Fellow in the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, and publishes regularly on labor, employment and employee benefits topics.

Sari Alamuddin has a significant employment litigation practice, with a particular emphasis on class-action and multi-plaintiff cases. He has strong trial experience in federal court, before administrative agencies and in arbitration hearings. He also regularly counsels employers in all facets of labor and employment law.

Christopher Weals has 20 years of experience representing employers in complex employment and ERISA litigation matters. Among the matters he has handled are EEOC pattern and practice suits involving allegations of breach of fiduciary duty, denial of benefits, race and national origin discrimination, and wage and hour violations.

All three partners join Morgan Lewis from their prior firm, Seyfarth Shaw.

Messrs. Jackson and Alamuddin join a cadre of talent in the firm’s first Midwestern office, which opened less than two years ago. Last summer, Nina Stillman and Barry Hartstein joined the firm’s labor and employment practice in Chicago from Vedder Price, with several associates. In January, Grady Murdock, Jr. joined Morgan Lewis with two other colleagues, from a Chicago firm. These labor and employment lawyers are complemented by the Employee Benefits Practice in Chicago, which includes six lawyers specializing in employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) matters.
