New York and Los Angeles, July 7, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – The national law firm Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that five attorneys joined the firm as partners. The additions add depth and experience to the firm’s core practice areas: litigation, corporate, entertainment and tax. Stephen L. Saltzman and Michael A. Thurman have joined the Los Angeles office and William M. Hawkins, Eugene R. Licker and John F. Settineri and have joined the New York office.

William M. Hawkins is a partner in the New York office. Mr. Hawkins counsels secured and unsecured creditors, lessors, equity holders, committees and other constituencies in credit restructurings and bankruptcies. He also represents debtor-in-possession and exit financing lenders, purchasers of assets in bankruptcy, and trustees in bankruptcy court. He was formerly a partner at Phillips Lytle LLP.

Eugene R. Licker is a partner in the New York office. Mr. Licker practices in the areas of commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense and SEC enforcement. In addition to representing individuals and entities in a broad range of civil and criminal proceedings, he conducts internal corporate investigations and counsels corporations and their constituent parts in matters involving corporate compliance. In recent years, Mr. Licker has represented mortgage loan originators, servicers and purchasers in connection with civil and criminal litigation arising out of federal and state fair lending laws. Mr. Licker was formerly a partner at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholoson Graham LLP.

Stephen L. Saltzman is a partner in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Saltzman, who previously practiced with Loeb & Loeb from 1990 through 2000, has broad experience in domestic and international transactions in the entertainment industry. His practice encompasses the legal and business aspects of development, production, sale, distribution and financing of feature film, television, videogame and digital media projects, and ancillary products such as merchandise, technologies and publications. He represents U.S., European and Asian producers, production companies, studios, distribution companies, broadcasters, digital media companies, banks, film funds and talent. Mr. Saltzman was formerly a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer Feld LLP.

John F. Settineri is a partner in the New York office. Mr. Settineri’s tax practice covers a full range of domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, private placements, restructurings and joint ventures. He also represents public and private clients in various tax controversies. He was formerly a partner at Salans.

Michael A. Thurman is a partner in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Thurman is a trial and arbitration attorney with 18 plus years of securities industry experience. He handles securities litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters. He has significant State and Federal jury, court and private trial experience. His clients include many NYSE member firms. Mr. Thurman was formerly at Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth.
