New York – April 11, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Dewey Ballantine LLP, an international law firm, announced today the arrival of Suzanne Jaffe Bloom who joins the Firm as counsel in the Litigation Department, resident in its New York office.
Ms. Bloom’s practice focuses on representing institutional, corporate, and individual clients in white collar criminal and regulatory proceedings; corporate internal investigations; corporate governance matters; and complex litigation.
The addition of Ms. Bloom will further strengthen the capabilities of the firm’s White Collar Crime and Corporate Internal Investigations practice to support its clients in complex criminal and regulatory enforcement proceedings. She joins a national white collar practice adept at a broad range of matters including investigations by the Department of Justice, the SEC, IRS and state and local law enforcement. Other prominent attorneys in this group include Seth Farber and Christine Chi, former Assistant United States Attorneys for the Southern District of New York; Lawrence Hill, previously a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C and Alison Smith who served in the United States Department of Justice as Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Antitrust Division.
Before joining Dewey Ballantine, Ms. Bloom served as Deputy Chief of the Long Island Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, where she held primary responsibility for its corporate fraud and complex white collar matters, including securities fraud, criminal tax matters and commercial fraud.
Prior to that, Ms. Bloom served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York for six years and thereafter, as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York for two years. As a federal prosecutor for both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Ms. Bloom concentrated in investigating and prosecuting white collar crime, ranging from public corruption to money laundering, tax fraud, commercial fraud and securities fraud. Ms. Bloom conducted numerous criminal jury trials and briefed and argued appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Ms. Bloom graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Binghamton and earned a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. Ms. Bloom is a member of the New York Bar, and is admitted to practice before the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
