New York – January 12, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler LLP announced 100% participation of its partners, counsel, associates and staff attorneys in its pro
bono program for 2004. The New York City-based firm has always been a leader in
pro bono publico service, but 2004 is the first year the firm has had 100%
participation of its attorneys in the program.
The 190-lawyer firm regularly ranks in the top ten in pro bono service in The
American Lawyer magazine s annual survey of Americas 200 largest law
firms. For 2003, it ranked sixth and for 2002, it ranked first. Among New
York-based firms, Patterson Belknap ranked first in 2002 and second in 2003.
According to Lisa Cleary, a partner in the firm and Chair of its Pro Bono
Committee,” The members of the Pro Bono Committee are so pleased with this
level of participation, which reflects each individual attorney s commitment
to public service as well as the firms commitment to the highest ideals of
the legal profession. All of our lawyers are very proud of their substantial
contributions to those who could not otherwise afford legal counsel.”
