NEW YORK, Oct. 28 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network — Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP, a 150-year- old law firm, will expand its White Plains, New York office by increasing its space to 22,500 square feet. Located in the central business district, the
new office occupies the top floor of 50 Main Street, increasing its square
footage by 50%. It can now accommodate 35 attorneys.
The need for larger accommodations was apparent after several years of
growth serving Westchester County’s corporations, municipalities, private
entities and individuals from the building’s fifth floor. “Our current
location in the center of the city is ideal,” said Thomas M. Leslie, the
Firm’s Vice Chairman and Office Managing Partner. “Our transactional and
litigation practices in the local and regional arenas are growing, requiring
us to respond accordingly to our clients’ needs. The new space will help
achieve our strategic goal of being a dominant player in markets we service.”

The lease was signed in August and construction will begin in early
November, with an occupancy date of February 2006.
