Nixon Peabody Strengthens Syndication Law Practise With Addition Of Former IRS Branch Chief

Former Branch Chief at Internal Revenue Service Joins Firm’s Washington, D.C. Office

January 29, 2008 (Washington, D.C.) – LAWFUEL – Legal Newswire – Nixon Peabody LLP announces the arrival of Susan P. Reaman as Counsel in the firm’s syndication practice. Ms. Reaman joins Nixon Peabody from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) where she worked for more than three decades most recently serving as Branch Chief in the office of Associate Chief Counsel.

Most recently, Ms. Reaman was Branch Chief of the Incentives Branch in the IRS Office of Associate Chief Counsel, Passthroughs, and Special Industries. Serving in this capacity since 1996, she oversaw and reviewed IRS regulations, rulings, and procedures for general business credits, including those related to low-income housing, new markets, renewable resource production, research, disabled access, and historic rehabilitation, among others. In addition to reviewing a number of significant income tax regulations, Ms. Reaman authored §1.42-2, which involves the waiver of the requirement that an existing building eligible for the low-income housing credit was last placed in service more than 10 years prior to acquisition by the taxpayer.

She received her LL.M (Taxation) from Georgetown University Law Center and she earned a B.A. degree from the University of Detroit.
