Nixon Peabody's NYC Office Wins Accolades for Sustainability and DesignNew York, NY. Nixon Peabody’s New York City office is one of five organizations—and the only law firm—selected for Crain’s New York’s “2018 Coolest Offices in New York City” award, which recognizes not only the most functional, modern workplaces, but also the most stylish and design-driven.

“We’re honored to be considered among the coolest office spaces in New York City,” said Andrew Glincher, CEO and managing partner of Nixon Peabody. “This accolade demonstrates our commitment to create the law firm of the future and cultivate an energetic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative work environment for our colleagues and our clients.”

Every architectural and design element of the firm’s New York City office reflects the firm’s values. Neither a fully open nor fully closed floor plan, the office’s floor-to-ceiling glass walls and building façade provide panoramic views of Midtown Manhattan and encourage cross pollination between its strong legal practices in corporate law, real estate and litigation.

“The floor-to-ceiling glass walls maximizes natural light, which not only saves energy but creates a happier and more productive work environment,” said Joe Lynch, managing partner of Nixon Peabody’s New York City office.

True to its entrepreneurial spirit, the office is also one of the first law firms to roll out with uniform-size offices for all attorneys, favoring team collaboration rooms in lieu of corner offices, and each office is equipped with an automatic-convertible standing desk.

While the office is design-driven, it is also environmentally sustainable and resource efficient, earning itself LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The office’s multipurpose conference room walls and elevator lobbies are made with heart pine wood sourced from local Hudson River Valley factories and warehouses. Additionally, a handful of hand spun jute rugs made from 100% biodegradable and recyclable materials are located throughout the office.

“When we began planning our new office space close to two years ago, we only sought out to do what’s right for our attorneys and staff, stick to our firm values, and reduce our environmental footprint,” added Joe Lynch. “We never could have imagined earning both these notable accolades. On behalf of my colleagues at our office, we’re very thankful and completely honored.”
