Dentons in New Zealand is thrilled to announce two senior promotions. Gillian Weir is being promoted to Special Counsel in Auckland and Lucinda King to Senior Associate in Wellington. Their promotions reflect the expertise and leadership they bring to our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team.

Gillian Weir has been promoted to Special Counsel in our health law practice of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. She is an experienced litigator with a keen interest in the legal and ethical issues that arise in the health and disability sector. Gillian has represented both public and private sector clients in the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal, High Court and Coronial proceedings. She also provides advice to clients on a wide range of health care-related legal issues, including complaints to the Health and Disability Commissioner. Gillian’s promotion is a well-deserved acknowledgement of the significant contribution she has made to the team and the expertise she has developed over the course of her career.
Lucinda King has been promoted to Senior Associate in our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. She advises private and public sector clients on a range of public law disputes and issues, as well as civil and commercial disputes. She has particular experience advising central and local government, government agencies, professional regulatory bodies, individuals and businesses on their rights and obligations under information and privacy law. Lucinda’s promotion is a testament to her exceptional expertise and leadership within the litigation team and the firm.
