October 25, 2004 LAWFUEL – Law, attorney, law firm, legal newsDebevoise & Plimpton LLP is pleased to announce that Linda Lerner has joined the firm as Counsel, resident in the New York office. Ms. Lerner will be part of the firm’s Securities Practice and Derivatives Practice.

Ms. Lerner joins Debevoise from Domestic Securities, Inc., a registered broker-dealer, where she has been General Counsel since 1993. During her tenure at Domestic Securities, Inc., Ms. Lerner focused on a wide range of broker-dealer matters, including regulatory and compliance issues relating to market making, electronic trading, SRO membership and ECN formation and operation, market structure issues, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and public and private offerings. During this time, she served on a number of NASD and NASDAQ Committees.

Prior to taking an in-house position, Ms. Lerner spent 15 years in private practice as a partner and associate at Morrison, Cohen, Singer & Weinstein (MCSW) and as an associate at Reavis & McGrath and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Ms. Lerner received her J.D., magna cum laude, and graduated first in her class from Brooklyn Law School. She received her M.S. from Columbia University and her B.A. from Brandeis University.
