Hong Kong – Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP (Orrick) announced today that Ankit Goyal has joined the firm’s international arbitration team as a managing associate, based in Hong Kong. An accomplished and highly respected international arbitration lawyer, Mr. Goyal was previously Counsel and the South Asia Head at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and helped establish the organization’s Mumbai
office. He was the primary lawyer responsible for issues relating to India and supervised the administration of approximately 150 arbitrations.

This hire continues the growth of Orrick’s Asia Dispute Resolution practice. The increase in intra-regional arbitration and global disputes more broadly has allowed Orrick to grow with the market and meet the demands of a wide range of Asian and international clients.

Robert Pé, the head of Orrick’s Asia Dispute Resolution practice, said: “Ankit brings to the firm a significant breadth of experience, particularly with Indian and other South Asian clients. His presence provides the Orrick team with a key geographic reach that
few of our peer arbitration teams can match. Additionally, Ankit’s choosing to join our team reflects the growing reputation of Orrick’s practice among the regional arbitration
community.”

During 2011, Orrick’s Asia arbitration team advised in multiple high-value arbitrations winning arbitral awards with an aggregate value exceeding US$600 million in relation
to complex cross-border disputes.
