Orrick Hire 4 Person M&A Team From Norton Rose

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has recuited four M&A and private equity lawyes from Norton Rose Fulbright in Munich boosting the firm’s European transactional firepower.

The firm’s media statement on the hires is below –

  • Michael Prüssner and Benjamin Schikora join Orrick as partners in Munich, along with associates Hannah Frahm and Helge Meyer. The team’s first day at Orrick is December 1.
  • The team joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, where Michael headed the German practice group for corporate, M&A, and securities. He is recognized for leadership by both JUVE (M&A, and Corporate Law) and Legal 500 (M&A, Private Equity, and Corporate Law).
  • Michael and Benjamin have practiced together for years, advising companies and funds on German and, above all, cross-border M&A and private equity transactions (both buy- and sell-side), with deep experience in advising companies in the energy & infrastructure and technology & innovation sectors, as well as industrial.
  • The move follows the firm’s hiring of 16 corporate partners across 9 markets in 2025, including the launch of a Miami office with a 3-partner M&A and private equity team.
  • Orrick has also now hired 16 partners across Europe this year, including four partners in the London office as part of a transatlantic 37-lawyer CLO and asset-backed lending team.

Michael and Benjamin’s recent experience includes advising Siemens Energy, TOGG, Orlando, Ecco, Rohde & Schwarz, Knorr-Bremse, Fidelium, Rolls-Royce Power Systems, Benteler, Ziegler, J. Wagner, 777 Partners, Captaron, REWE/ DerTour on M&A and private equity transactions.

Orrick ranks in the Top 10 for M&A globally, U.S., Europe and Germany by deal volume through the third quarter of 2025 (LSEG) and Top 5 for private equity buyout globally, U.S. and Europe by deal volume in the same period (Mergermarket).
