Wilkinson was headhunted by Cadwaladers as a corporate restructuring specialist from Clifford Chance. His team reportedly brought in £14m of billings to a high-powered firm in which partners are attracting, on average, nearly £4m a year each in fees.

He joined Cadwalader in 1998 from a major City firm where he led the non-contentious insolvency practice.
