Our story on the survey of top earning London lawyers omitted to name the highest earning lawyer. We thought the emails would never stop. (You could always have followed the link). Sorry. He’s Andrew Wilkinson of Cadwalader Wickersham + Taft.
Wilkinson was headhunted by Cadwaladers as a corporate restructuring specialist from Clifford Chance. His team reportedly brought in £14m of billings to a high-powered firm in which partners are attracting, on average, nearly £4m a year each in fees.
What’s the firm’s official line on Wilkinson.?
“Andrew Wilkinson is a partner in the firm’s Financial Restructuring Group, managing partner of the London office and a member of the Management Committee. He is a corporate lawyer who specialises in corporate restructuring and insolvency and other corporate transactions. He joined Cadwalader in 1998 from a major City firm where he led the non-contentious insolvency practice.
Mr. Wilkinson has been in private practice for over fifteen years and during that time has handled numerous restructurings and insolvencies involving many different jurisdictions across Europe and the United States. He has participated in a large number of restructurings and insolvencies including in each case advising either creditor groups (including banks and bondholders), the Company or insolvency office holders.”
