LawFuel.net – The law in Pennsylvania law that requires the reporting by school officials and others of possible child abuse evidently does not apply to a Penn State administrator accused of remaining silent about allegations that a football coach had molested a child, according to the administrator’s lawyer.
Gerald “Jerry” Sandusky has been charged with sexually abusing eight young men and it is also expected that Penn State athletic director Tim Curley and also Penn state vice president for finance, Gary Schultz will hand themselves in to Police on charges of perjury and failing to report the allegations under Pennsylvania’s child protective services law.
The charge is part of a wider-ranging case centered on retired Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, who is accused of sexually abusing eight boys over 15 years. Schultz, 62, and Penn State athletic director Tim Curley, 57, were both charged Saturday with failing to report to state and county officials that a witness told them he saw Sandusky sexually abusing a naked boy in the showers of a team practice facility in 2002.
