Philadelphia, Pa. (LAWFUEL) – June 10, 2008 – Nina M. Gussack, chairwoman of the Executive Committee of Pepper Hamilton LLP, has announced the appointment of several partners to leadership positions in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.
Effective July 1, 2008, Francis P. Devine, III and Laurence Z. Shiekman will assume responsibility as co-chairs of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, and Amy B. Ginensky will become chair of the department’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
“Frank and Larry’s experience and track records as outstanding litigators will help us reach the next level of success in effecting our strategic intent of attracting and winning large, sophisticated client matters,” said Ms. Gussack.
She continued, “We expect that Amy, also a stellar litigator, will build on Frank’s work to strengthen one of our premier practice groups.”
Mr. Devine is a senior trial lawyer, a former chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the recent chairman of Pepper Hamilton’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He focuses his practice on complex business and commercial disputes, insurance company home office issues, directors and officers liability coverage, professional liability and intellectual property matters.
Mr. Shiekman is an experienced complex, commercial trial lawyer concentrating on antitrust, intellectual property, securities and general commercial matters. Active in firm leadership, he chairs Pepper Hamilton’s Finance Committee and is a past member of the firm’s Executive Committee and a past chairman of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
Ms. Ginensky is a senior commercial litigation partner. She leads Pepper Hamilton’s media and communications practice, which focuses on First Amendment, defamation and other media-related areas, and also handles complex commercial and class action litigation. She is president-elect of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation.
George A. Lehner and Barbara W. Mather are the outgoing co-chairs of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. Ms. Mather recently assumed the role of general counsel of Pepper Hamilton, and Mr. Lehner has been re-elected as vice chair of the firm’s Executive Committee. Both remain active in serving clients.
