Philadelphia Bar Association to Sponsor `Law School’ for Non-Lawyers
 PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ — Philadelphia-area residents can
 receive basic information about areas of the law most likely to impact on
 their daily lives when the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar
 Association presents The People’s Law School – a six-session adult legal
 education program for non-lawyers beginning Tuesday, Sept. 21.
 The program will be held from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. at the Criminal Justice
 Center’s Jury Assembly Room, 13th and Filbert Streets in Center City
 Philadelphia.  Classes are scheduled for Sept. 21, 28, Oct. 5, 12, 19, and 26.
 Topics to be covered include:  bankruptcy law, consumer fraud law,
 criminal law and procedure, defending yourself in a civil law suit, employment
 law, family law, immigration law, landlord/tenant law, personal injury/tort
 law, real estate law, wills and estate planning, and workers’ compensation
 law. Each week, local attorneys from both the private and public sectors will
 speak on topics related to their area of practice.
 The fee for the entire six-week program, which includes the course manual,
 is only $40.  Pre-registration for the course will close on Wednesday,
 Sept. 8.  On-site registration will be available as space permits.
