Pittsburgh, PA — LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham LLP (K&LNG) is pleased to announce that it has received DuPont Legal’s 2004 “Meeting the Challenge” award. This award, issued by DuPont to a select group of Primary Law Firms and Service Providers, recognizes K&LNG for its service and accomplishments in support of the DuPont Legal Model.
DuPont was especially complimentary of K&LNG’s “outstanding commitment to diversity in the legal profession.” In recent years, the firm broke new ground by appointing the profession’s first Chief Diversity Officer, Carl Cooper, and the first Director of Professional and Personal Life Integration, Jeannine Rupp. Focusing on these and related initiatives, Thomas L. Sager, Vice President & Assistant General Counsel of DuPont Legal, noted: “K&LNG continues to distinguish itself within our network—and more broadly, the legal industry—in all facets. DuPont is proud to recognize K&LNG’s relentless commitment, creativity and advances in the area of diversity.”
In addition, the citation accompanying the Meeting the Challenge award noted several of the firm’s performance-related achievements.
The DuPont Legal Model, a comprehensive and integrated process that takes a business-focused and results-oriented approach to the law, helps law firms and corporate law departments improve the quality, cost and efficiency of legal services. DuPont created the Meeting the Challenge award to recognize the outstanding legal work and involvement and support from its law firms. This is the fourth such award that DuPont has bestowed upon K&LNG.
Peter J. Kalis, Chair of K&LNG’s Management Committee, said: “Our firm culture and our relationships with clients are built upon the very values espoused by the DuPont Legal Model and the specific areas for which we are today recognized. We are delighted to be acknowledged for our client service, diversity and professional and personal life integration initiatives. What’s more, we are pleased that our accomplishments in these areas have made a meaningful contribution to DuPont and the DuPont Legal Model.”
