Prominent Telecom Partners with Nearly 50 Years of Combined Experience

WASHINGTON, D.C. (JUNE 2) — Kilpatrick Stockton LLP today announces the addition of Thomas J. Dougherty, Jr. and Laura C. Mow as partners in the firm’s Corporate Department. Mr. Dougherty and Ms. Mow will focus their respective practices on telecommunications law and be resident in firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Mr. Dougherty and Ms. Mow have extensive experience in representing broadcasters, satellite service providers, LMDS companies, mobile carriers (including cellular, PCS, 800 MHz, 220-222 MHz and paging companies), microwave radio service providers, MMDS (BRS) and ITFS (EBS) service providers, telecommunications equipment companies, telecommunications system users and cable television companies before the Federal Communications Commission, State PUCs, local cable franchising authorities and federal and state courts. In addition, both devote a substantial part of their practices to merger, acquisition, lease, finance and operational matters involving communications companies, as well as representing companies in their acquisition of sophisticated communications equipment. Mr. Dougherty and Ms. Mow also are experienced in various telecommunications-related litigation matters, such as fair value appraisal proceedings for wireless businesses.

Mr. Dougherty received his J.D. from Catholic University Columbus School of Law and his B.A. from Denison University. While in law school, he served as an editor of the Law Review. He is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Ms. Mow received her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University, where she served as Editor of the Case Western Reserve Law Review and her B.A. from Wellesley College in 1979, where she was a Wellesley Scholar. She is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association. Ms. Mow has been an active leader in the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), serving during the past four years as vice chair and chair of the NVTC’s IT and Telecommunications Committee — a Committee that regularly presents distinguished panels on cutting-edge telecommunications industry issues to its more than 2,000 members. Ms. Mow served as co-chair of the Committee on Professional Responsibility of the Federal Communications Bar Association.
