RALEIGH (October 3) – LAWFUEL – Legal News Network – Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that Chris Matton, a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department, was selected to receive The Caring Community Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award. Mr. Matton has acted as attorney and advisor on a pro bono basis for the organization for the past two years.
The Caring Community Foundation, Inc. is a charitable organization that provides financial support to cancer patients in need. The Foundation works with clinics and hospitals in the Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, North Carolina areas to identify patients with financial challenges, and to expeditiously provide assistance with expenses such as rent, utilities, food, prescription medications, nutritional supplements and other items that become even more difficult to manage in the face of cancer.
Mr. Matton’s practice focuses on corporate and securities law. He has represented clients in connection with venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of securities and other corporate matters, including corporate governance issues. Mr. Matton was also recently recognized by the American Lung Association for his extraordinary volunteerism and pro bono legal help.
