Rugby World Cup 2011 Tickets and Packages – Auckland Prepares For The Visitor Influx with New Party Central

Auckland, Rugby World Cup momentum continues to build as the huge event’s approach draws closers. Auckland is now setting ups its ‘party central’ HQ with a giant tent planned for the city’s waterfront precinct, as reported in RugbyWorldCupNews.

The 100-metre long tent is to be set up on the eastern side of the wharf and two 98-year-old cargo sheds would be demolished to make room, accordign to the Rugby World Cup News website.

Auckland will host hundreds of thousands when the tournament begins next year and to prepare for the influx of visitors ownership of the wharf was transferred to the Government and Auckland Regional Council earlier this month.

The tent would be 12 metres high and 25 metres wide.

Earlier plans for the party central concept for the RWC included a $100m cruise ship terminal which would be a party base for cup fans from around the world.
