San Francisco—Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that the firm will be honored for its number of women in management and women partners by the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF). Foley & Lardner will be recognized in the mid-size firm category along with several other San Francisco firms and legal departments at the BASF’s annual luncheon on December 15.
Foley & Lardner is a signatory to the BASF’s No Glass Ceiling Initiative, which aimed to employ at least 25 percent women partners and 25 percent women in management positions by January 1, 2005. The firm is recognized for exceeding these goals, employing 41 percent female partners and 50 percent female management in its San Francisco office by the requested date.
In addition, 50 percent of the San Francisco associates promoted to partner since 2002 have been female, and the firm has appointed women partners to mid-level leadership positions on the national recruiting and national litigation training committees. The firm’s San Francisco office has also retained an executive search firm to focus on recruiting women lateral partner candidates and attorneys of color.
