San Francisco (June 5, 2004) – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network -The Daily Journal Extra newspaper has announced its list of the state’s Top 30 Securities Litigators. Included on that list is San Francisco partner Jordan Eth.
Of the list’s attorneys, D.J.E. said: “When it comes to corporate scandal, the attorneys on our list of the state’s Top 30 Securities Litigators have seen it all. On Jordan Eth, the newspaper made note of a recent successful motion to dismiss Nolte v. Capital One Financial Corp. That case, dismissed by the Eastern District of Virginia and affirmed by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in December 2004, held that the plaintiffs failed to adequately prove Capital One’s management knew the company was undercapitalized, yet continued to publicly declare otherwise.
The newspaper also quoted a client who commented: “‘What makes [Eth] exceptional is his creativity, focus and ability to identify critical issues and simplify the case for the decision maker,’ says Pete Bewley, former senior VP and general counsel for Clorox.”
