SEATTLE, May 25 LAWFUEL – Law Jobs & Law News Wire — The board and staff of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle send our condolences to King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng’s family, friends and staff on Mr. Maleng’s sudden
death. Mr. Maleng’s ongoing commitment to justice over his accomplished
career made our King County a better place to live.
The Jewish community’s appreciation of Mr. Maleng was greatly
strengthened over the past ten months, especially after the tragic shooting at the Federation’s offices last July.
“Norm was a caring and thoughtful man,” stated Richard Fruchter,
President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. “Mr. Maleng didn’t just do his job well — he did it with compassion. He made it clear that no hate crime would go unprosecuted while he was in office, but he also truly cared about the individuals affected by a crime. He met with individual victims and their families, and was always available to and the staff and leadership of the Federation in our time of grief and concern.”
We join the rest of King County in mourning the death of this highly
respected and dedicated public servant.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle was established in 1926 to
ensure Jewish survival and enhance the quality of Jewish life. It
distributes more than $6 million a year to more than 40 organizations
locally and abroad. For more information visit
