Stewart Germann Appointed as Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2026 New Zealand Royal Honours
Stewart Germann, founder of Stewart Germann Law Office, based in Auckland, New Zealand, has been formally recognised in the 2026 New Zealand Royal Honours, receiving appointment as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit by HM King Charles III.
The New Zealand Royal Honours system acknowledges individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service and achievement. Mr Germann’s appointment reflects decades of dedicated contribution to franchise law, business leadership, and community engagement in New Zealand and around the world.
Widely regarded as a leading international authority in franchising, Stewart has played a pivotal role in shaping best practice within the sector globally being regularly recognised across the industry – most recently with a Highly Commended Award at the Global Franchise Awards 2025. He has supported the growth of franchised businesses nationwide and developed New Zealand as a significant location for global franchises to do business. His recognition is not only a personal honour, but also a significant milestone for the franchising industry.
