Taylor Wessing is set to open an office in Paris following a partner vote last week in favour of the expansion. The announcement is in line with Taylor Wessing’s stated strategy to build a European practice.
Taylor Wessing France is due to open in November 2003 with partners recruited from the TICE (Telecoms, IT, Communications and Entertainment) Group at Landwell in Paris. The team, led by Arnaud de Senilhes, has been in existence since 1996 and is the largest all round technology, media & entertainment practice in France. Its expertise includes corporate, commercial, finance, tax and employment with specialisms in film financing and IP.
The office will comprise eight partners and over 20 associates.
Gary Moss, Taylor Wessing UK managing partner, said:
“We are delighted to be announcing this development in our European expansion just a year after the launch of Taylor Wessing. The Paris office will further complement our already acknowledged expertise in servicing clients in technology, media, entertainment and other IP-rich industries.”
Wolfgang Rehmann, Taylor Wessing German managing partner, said:
“We are very pleased to be able to launch onto the French market with such an outstanding team. With its team of 40 the new Taylor Wessing Paris office will not go unnoticed in the Paris market and be a recognized force right from the outset.”
Arnuad de Senilhes said:
“We are excited to be part of the 40 strong team opening Taylor Wessing’s Paris office. At a single stroke we will have a significant impact and position Taylor Wessing among the league of firms who deal comfortably with pan European transactions.”
