Tony Eveready the ‘Thug of Porn’ Sentenced For Coke & Gun Charges

LAWFUEL – Law Newswire – A San Fernando Valley man well known in the adult film industry has been sentenced to 77 months in federal prison for his conviction of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of cocaine.

Duane Reed Moore, who as an actor uses the stage name “Tony Eveready” and calls himself the “Thug of Porn,” was sentenced Monday by United States District Judge Percy Anderson in Los Angeles. In addition to the prison sentence, Moore was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.

Moore, 37, who resides in the Winnetka district of Los Angeles, pleaded guilty on May 12 to being a felon in possession of a firearm. He later went to trial on drug charges and on May 23 was found guilty of possession of cocaine. A jury acquitted him on charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

The evidence at his trial and court documents showed that Moore was driving on Haskell Avenue in the San Fernando Valley when he was stopped by Los Angeles Police officers for a traffic violation. When Moore was searched by officers, they found nearly four grams of cocaine inside of seven small bags in his pocket. Inside Moore’s vehicle, officers found a digital scale, two handguns and a collapsible baton on the driver’s seat. At trial, investigators testified that during his post-arrest interview, Moore told them that he dealt drugs while business in the porn industry was slow. While prosecutors argued that he should be convicted of drug trafficking, the jury acquitted Moore of that charge and found him guilty of simple possession of narcotics. Prior to trial, Moore pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, admitting that he had previously been convicted of spousal abuse.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Los Angeles Police Department.
