“Andrée has spent her entire professional career in the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors, first as a practitioner, then in 1995 as a commissioner, and from 1998 to 2005 as a vice-chair of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC),” said Jim Christie, Chairman of Blakes. “She is widely recognized for her expertise and experience, and we are delighted that she has decided to return to Blakes. While in legal practice, Andrée Wylie represented regulatory tribunals and acted for third parties in matters involving regulatory tribunals, particularly the CRTC, including appearances before federal and Ontario regulatory tribunals and the courts on behalf of a number of clients. Since 1995, she has been at the CRTC, first as a full-time commissioner, and from 1998 to 2005 as the CRTC’s vice-chair of broadcasting. Throughout her career, she has been a regular contributor to various articles and reports on broadcasting and communications, as well as a participant, speaker and panellist in numerous seminars and conferences on those and related subjects.
