Tuesday 8 May 2007 LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) notes the announcement this morning by Airline Partners Australia Limited (APA) that it “has decided not to pursue arguments that it did achieve voting power in excess of 50%” by the deadline for its takeover offer for Qantas Airways Limited.
In the interest of market certainty about the legal position following that announcement, ASIC today executed an instrument, the effect of which is to put beyond doubt that the bid closed at 7.00pm AEST on Friday 4 May 2007.
