Washington, D.C., January 6, 2005 – LAWFUEL – Best for law news – White & Case today announced that Delbert R. “Chip ” Terrill, Jr., previously an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) at the US International Trade Commission (ITC) has joined the Firm as counsel in its in Washington, DC office.

“White & Case has substantial experience handling Section 337 cases, most
recently advising Geneva Pharmaceuticals and Taiwan Semiconductor
Manufacturing Corporation in two of the largest trade secrets investigations
ever before the ITC. As the only ALJ with 337 experience to enter into
private practice, Judge Terrill’s comprehensive understanding of the
investigative process and intellectual property law will be an important
added asset for our clients,” said Walter Spak, head of White & Case’s
International Trade practice.

Terrill spent more than fifteen years as a federal ALJ, joining the ITC in
2001 after having served as an ALJ with the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission. At the ITC, he presided over Section 337 cases which
investigates claims relating to intellectual property infringement and other
unfair import trade practices.

Terrill also has served both at the US Occupational Safety and Health Review
Commission and US Department of Defense’s Directorate for Industrial Security
Clearance Review. His public policy experience includes time on Capital Hill
as legislative counsel to Senators John Melcher and Edward Zorinsky. Among
his legislative accomplishments, he worked on the Copyright Reform Act of
1976. He also served as an attorney at the White House Presidential Clemency
Board under President Gerald Ford.

A retired commissioned officer in the US Air Force Reserves, Terrill holds a
JD from Georgetown University Law Center. A member of the District of
Columbia and State of Michigan Bars, he is admitted to the US Court of
Appeals, DC Circuit and the US District Court, District of DC. Terrill is
also a member of the ITC Trial Lawyers and Energy Bar Associations and the
Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.
