Washington, DC, August 6, 2004 Legal news, law news, law firm announcments at LAWFUEL -Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP (K&L) is pleased to announce the addition of partner Roger D. Stark, of counsel Leslie C. Zimberg, and associates Michael C. Pawluk, J. Kenneth Borgerding and Arun Murthy to the firm’s Washington office. Including these arrivals, K&L has added 17 lawyers to its Washington office since January 2004, bringing the office to a total of 138 lawyers.

Stark comes to the firm’s project finance practice from the Washington office of Coudert Brothers LLP. He concentrates his practice on a wide variety of domestic and international energy and infrastructure transactions. He has structured, documented and/or closed over US$1 billion in complex infrastructure financings involving projects in 12 U.S. states, 16 Latin American countries and numerous other locations worldwide.

Zimberg works with the firm’s hedge fund and venture capital groups on a variety of fund formation, commercial finance and transactional matters. A former K&L associate, Zimberg served as counsel for 15 years at Potomac Capital Investment Corporation in Washington, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

Pawluk comes to K&L as an associate in the firm’s investment management practice. He was most recently an associate with the investment management group at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP in Washington.

Prior to joining K&L’s food and drug practice as an associate, Borgerding served as regulatory counsel for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. He was also a Major in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

Murthy, a former K&L associate, returns to K&L as an associate in the firm’s investment management practice. After leaving the firm in 2000, he worked as an independent consultant on matters relating to securities arbitration, futures and investment analysis.
