WASHINGTON, DC – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Sidley Austin LLP lawyers Paul V. Gerlach (Washington, DC) and Paul E. Kalb, M.D. (Washington, DC) have been named in the BTI Consulting Group’s 2006 All-Star Team – a select group of lawyers who have been recognized by their clients for providing “superior client service.” The report is based on interviews conducted by BTI with general counsel from nearly 200 Fortune 1000 companies and focuses on the quality of service provided by the corporations’ outside law firms.
Each lawyer was specifically designated “by name and unprompted, as delivering superior client service,” according to Michael B. Rynowecer, president of BTI, a management consulting and research firm that analyzes client service provided by professional service firms.
“Superior client service is a key barometer of performance,” said Thomas A. Cole, a Sidley corporate partner and chairman of the firm’s executive committee. “All of our colleagues congratulate Paul Kalb for a second year in a row and are pleased to welcome Paul Gerlach to Sidley’s list of honorees.”
In October, Sidley was named to the BTI Client Service Hall of Fame , one of only two firms honored for ranking in the Top 10 for five consecutive years for delivering superior client service. Sidley was also ranked by BTI as the number one law firm for overall client service in 2004 and 2002.
Paul Gerlach practices in the areas of securities law counseling, litigation and defense of SEC enforcement actions. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gerlach served twelve years in the Securities & Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, the last five as Associate Director.
Paul Kalb heads the firm’s national Health Care group. He principally represents drug manufacturers and institutional health care providers in criminal, civil and administrative enforcement actions and related civil litigation involving health care fraud and abuse.
