WASHINGTON, June 28 LAWFUEL – Press Release Service — Thelen Reid & Priest LLP announced today that leading environmental litigator Gregory P. O’Hara will take over as managing partner of the firm’s Silicon Valley office.
Mr. O’Hara is the chair of Thelen Reid’s Environmental practice group
and a member of the firm’s Partnership Council. He is also a member of the Commercial Litigation Operating Committee. O’Hara replaces Kenneth L.
Nissly, who is stepping down from the position after 15 years.
Firm Chairman Stephen V. O’Neal thanked Nissly for his years of service and called the management shift an important piece in the firm’s plans for further growth and an expanded IP practice. “Ken has guided the office
through its growth and fostered the development and expansion of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice,” O’Neal said. “Greg has been a key player
in firm management for several years and having him at the helm of one of
our most important offices is key to our overall strategy.”
O’Hara has been exploring growth plans for the office that will better
leverage the firm’s presence in Silicon Valley. “I very much look forward
to my new role as managing partner,” O’Hara said. “We have excellent
opportunities to expand the breadth and depth of our practices and to
continue to serve our clients at the highest levels in the profession.”
O’Hara is widely recognized as one of the premier environmental
attorneys in the U.S., especially on behalf of independent power producers in California and New York. O’Hara is also counsel for independent power
producers involved in Greenfield developments.
