What:
Erin Gruwell and 5 original Freedom Writers are visiting the 150 students in the Atlanta Freedom Writers program and the Kilpatrick Stockton mentors who brought the program to Washington High School. The group will celebrate at The King Center with a dinner and program featuring Erin Gruwell and the original Freedom Writers

Why:
The Washington High Freedom Writers have read The Freedom Writer’s Diary. They have seen the recent feature film based on the book. They have started writing their own stories. Erin Gruwell and the original Freedom Writers are visiting to share stories in person and to further inspire the Washington High students and the Kilpatrick Stockton mentors to continue working together toward the students’ graduation in the same way that the original Freedom Writers worked with Erin Gruwell in achieving their own high school graduation and continued success as young adults.
