Winston & Strrawn Continues Growth of D.C. IP Team with Addition of Richard Gilly

LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – WASHINGTON, D.C., December 11, 2007 — Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that prominent intellectual property attorney Richard P. Gilly has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as partner. Gilly focuses his practice on IP counseling and litigation.

Prior to joining Winston, Gilly was a partner at Fish & Richardson. He has broad experience as a patent strategist for Fortune 100 companies, medical device makers and international enterprises. His expertise also includes devising patent litigation strategies. Additionally, Gilly advises clients on intellectual property matters involving trademark acquisition and policing, e-commerce, anti-spam, and other internet law issues. He has defended and prosecuted major patent and trademark infringement cases, especially with regard to high-technology inventions, and also led legal teams on numerous IP transactions and agreements. Gilly served as a site attorney at IBM for five years.

Gilly earned his juris doctor from Harvard Law School and holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, magna cum laude, from Yale University.
