Although she finishes her role as Commerce Commission chairperson this year, former Minter Ellison Rudd Watts partner Anna Rawlings remains in a senior position on the List with the power and influence her role has over New Zealanders.

Although no replacement has been named as at the date of publication, Rawlings role since 2019 has seen the overseeing of the new fibre broadband regime, new criminal enforcement power in respect of cartels and the Commission’s market studies.

Before becoming chair, Rawlings worked as a commissioner and worked on on mergers and enforcement decisions under the Commerce Act, consumer matters under the Fair Trading Act and Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act (CCCFA), and aspects of telecommunications regulation under the Telecommunications Act.
