& Murphy LLP announced today that its partners have voted to change the firm
name to Powell Goldstein LLP.
“We have shortened our name to better reflect our brand and how the Firm
is known in the marketplace,” said James J. McAlpin, Jr., Chairman of the
Executive Committee and the Board of Partners. “The timing of this change is
in conjunction with the relocation of both of the Firm’s offices later this
year. Our Atlanta office will relocate to One Atlantic Center in Midtown
beginning November 1, 2004 and our Washington, DC office will move to a newly
developed property, 901 New York Avenue, on November 5, 2004.”
“In recognition of the legacy of James N. Frazer and B. D. (“Buck”)
Murphy, we will name conference space after each of them in our new Atlanta
office,” McAlpin said. “Both Mr. Frazer and Mr. Murphy played integral roles
