LOS ANGELES, Jan. 17, 2008 — LAWFUEL – Legal Announcements – Rachelle DeGregory has joined Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP as Chief Knowledge Officer. A former practicing attorney, DeGregory was most recently Director of Industry Relations at LexisNexis Litigation Services. She is based in Sheppard Mullin’s Los Angeles office.
DeGregory’s role is to develop and implement Sheppard Mullin’s knowledge management initiatives across all offices and practice groups, leveraging the firm’s knowledge and experience to enhance client service. As the liaison between the firm’s IT and business development departments, she is charged with the responsibility to ensure that technology projects meet the needs and requirements of clients, attorneys and staff.

In her role at LexisNexis, DeGregory gathered and employed legal market intelligence to locate trends/needs and customer pain points to identify new products, tools and content, as well as recommend and initiate changes in current solutions. She also identified and assessed business opportunities and determined strategic fit conditioned by technical feasibility.
DeGregory earned a J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1999 and a B.A., cum laude, from University of Southern Maine in 1996.
