CFO Magazine last month confirmed Mallesons Stephen Jaques nomination as the “best legal services firm in Australia”.
The Corporate Legal Services Firm of the Year is one of 14 categories of CFO’s annual survey of professional excellence and is the second year that an award has been presented to a law firm.
The Awards are recognised as an independent and authoritative evaluation of excellence, as demonstrated by Australia’s chief financial officers and those who work closely with them in the banking, finance and professional services industries. Peer review is also part of the judging criteria.
Some of the key categories included: CFO of the Year (Peter Day, Amcor); Business Bank of the Year (Commonwealth Bank of Australia); Investment Bank of the Year (UBS); and Corporate Finance (M&A) House of the Year (Deutsche Bank).
CFO writers with expertise relevant to the award category conducted research securing background on the nominees and combined this with information from a range of statistical sources to arrive at the final winners for each category.
Tony D’Aloisio, chief executive partner of Mallesons Stephen Jaques, said: “These awards are a great honour and a tribute to the hard work of our talented team across Asia Pacific and the confidence that clients have shown in us. The increasing, cross-border nature of our practice means that our offices in London and Hong Kong also are an integral part in achieving success for our clients.”
This year Mallesons was also nominated as INSTO Magazine’s Law Firm of the Year and was named Australian Law Firm of the Year in the International Financial Law Review’s (IFLR) Asian Legal Deals of the Year Awards.
