Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that William B. Sorabella has joined the firm as a partner in the New York office.  Sorabella, formerly with Kirkland & Ellis LLP, will continue his public company and private equity mergers and acquisitions practice.

About William Sorabella

Sorabella focuses on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, divisional carve-outs and joint ventures, representing corporate buyers and sellers, private equity sponsors, special committees and financial advisors.  He also provides advice on matters related to corporate governance, proxy contests and anti-takeover measures.

Among other clients, he has represented corporate clients, including Tronox Limited, Murray Energy Corporation, Restaurant Brands International Inc., Huntsman Corporation and Exelon Corporation; private equity sponsors, including 3G Capital Partners Ltd., GTCR LLC, The Carlyle Group and L Catterton; and numerous investment banks.  He has worked on matters across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, industrials, chemicals, energy, food and beverage, retail, software, hardware, financial services, and hospitality.

Before joining Gibson Dunn, Sorabella was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP since 2006.  He received his law degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2000.
