GREENVILLE, N.C., May 10 – LAWFUEL – Janus Development Group, Inc.,
Dr. Andrew Stuart, and Dr. Joseph Kalinowski today announced the settlement of
a lawsuit among the parties over copyrights in manuals and training materials
used in connection with Janus Development’s SpeechEasy(R) stuttering control
device. The lawsuit is pending in federal court in Greenville, North Carolina
and is expected to be formally dismissed within the week.
The parties strongly desired to set-aside their differences and move in a
positive direction to support the SpeechEasy(R) device. Janus acknowledges
the significant contributions of Drs. Stuart and Kalinowski toward the success
of the device.
Drs. Stuart and Kalinowski are two of the inventors on a patent related to
the device. The patent is held by East Carolina University. The
SpeechEasy(R) stuttering control device is a therapeutic device designed to
dramatically reduce stuttering. It employs altered auditory feedback in the
form of auditory delays and frequency shifts to provide maximum benefit to
