Houston, 29 November 2004 – LAWFUEL – Law, legal, attorney news – Godwin Gruber, LLP has announced David W. Holman and R. Alan York will join the Firm’s Appellate Section as Partners, effective December
1.

“David and Alan are considered by judges and attorneys across the state to
be among the very best appellate attorneys in Texas,” says Donald E. Godwin,

attorneys in our Dallas office to build one of the finest appellate sections
in any law firm in Texas.”

David Holman, who will become Godwin Gruber’s statewide Chair of
the Appellate Section, has built his reputation through the representation
of plaintiffs and defendants in appeals ranging from oil and gas to products
liability litigation, and insurance to intellectual property litigation. He
was named a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly in 2003 and 2004 and in 2002
was named one of the top five appellate lawyers in the state in the Texas
Lawyer Go-To Guide. He earned his Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from
South Texas College of Law in 1985.

Alan York is a former Chairman of the Appellate Section of the
Houston Bar Association and a former council member for the State Bar of
Texas Appellate Practice Section. He taught appellate advocacy at the
University of Houston School of Law. Mr. York was named a Texas Super Lawyer
by Texas Monthly in both 2003 and 2004. He has a wide range of experience
representing both plaintiff and defendants at trial and on appeal. Mr. York
earned his Juris Doctor degree from University of Houston School of Law in
1989.

Mr. Holman and Mr. York are both Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by
the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
