(LAWFUEL) – Mallesons Stephen Jaques is pleased to announce the appointment of Competition Partner Martyn Huckerby to its Shanghai office.
Martyn has extensive experience in competition and telecommunications law and has advised corporations, private equity firms and financial institutions throughout Australia, Europe and North Asia.
Mallesons’ Chief Executive Partner, Robert Milliner said: “Martyn will add capability to our Shanghai office in an area of increasing importance and, more broadly, will provide a stronger platform from which our Hong Kong and mainland offices can expand the China M&A practice.”
Of his appointment Martyn Huckerby said: “I am excited about returning to Mallesons and pursuing the many opportunities in the region at a time when many companies are paying increasing attention to their China strategy. I look forward to being able to combine my commercial experience with my Chinese competition and regulatory expertise.”

Martyn joins Mallesons from Clifford Chance, where he has been involved in the development of the China competition group and advising clients on the recently introduced Anti-Monopoly Law, as well as EU competition laws. Martyn was previously a Senior Associate in Mallesons’ Sydney competition practice.
