Perkins Coie Names Anchorage Office Managing Partner

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (June 13, 2019) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Danielle M. Ryman has been named Managing Partner of the firm’s Anchorage office. Danielle succeeds Eric Fjelstad, who served in the role since 2007.

“Danielle is a widely respected attorney with a strong reputation across Alaska,” said John Devaney, Perkins Coie’s Managing Partner. “As the first major law firm in the Lower 48 to establish a presence in Anchorage, Perkins Coie has uniquely strong ties to Alaska’s legal market. Danielle’s ties to that market, coupled with her deep understanding of the firm’s strategic priorities, make her an ideal choice for building upon our accomplishments over our four decades in Alaska.”

As a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment practice, Danielle works with clients on the myriad issues affecting today’s workplace, including executive employment agreements, pay equity, restrictive covenants and enforcements, privacy, and internal investigations. She has extensive experience with the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Pay Act and equivalent state laws. Danielle is an experienced trial lawyer having defended cases to verdict in state and federal courts. She also serves as management-side labor counsel in collective bargaining, representation before the NLRB, and counseling on strategic union relationships.

“For more than 40 years, our lawyers have worked with companies in key growth areas for our state, particularly energy, transportation, health care, and construction,” Danielle said. “I look forward to further positioning Perkins Coie as a trusted adviser to Alaska’s leading businesses as well as our U.S. and global clients.”
