As chair of Becker & Poliakoff’s statewide Community Association Practice Group, Mr. Direktor works closely with the law firm’s 32 other community association attorneys, who practice from Becker & Poliakoff offices located throughout Florida. Joining him in the Port St. Lucie office will be Becker & Poliakoff attorneys Mary Harvey and Peter Mollengarden, who is also a shareholder with the firm.

A Becker & Poliakoff attorney since 1986, Mr. Direktor has spent the past 12 years providing legal counsel and representation to condominium, cooperative and homeowner associations in Southeast Florida. A frequent lecturer on community association matters, Mr. Direktor has also been active in the Florida legislative process, advocating change and contributing to proposed legislation that might impact condominium, cooperatives and homeowner associations.
The additional members of the Port St. Lucie legal team also bring several years of experience in community association law to the new office. A Becker & Poliakoff attorney for more than 16 years, Mr. Mollengarden previously worked as an attorney in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, and he also served six years as a board member for the Gold Coast chapter of the Community Associations Institute. Ms. Harvey previously served as an attorney for the U.S. Small Business Administration, where she worked with community associations and others seeking federal financial assistance following major hurricanes.

The half-day seminar took place on April 12 and included presentations on Insurance Claims and Coverage, Fiscal Management of Associations and a case law and legislative update.
