Robert De Niro has filed an appeal against a lawsuit filed against him by insurers and relating to his prostate cancer diagnosis.
The actor was sued by Fireman’s Fund Insurance in 2006 after he was diagnosed with the cancer, which lead to his inability to complete shooting the Film Hide and Seek, as scheduled.
The insurance company had to pay 1.8 million to the production house of the film for its lost costs.
Later in October 2006, the company had sued the Oscar winner alleging him of misrepresenting his case.
But, the certificate in the records of the insurance company was dated two days earlier, on October 13. In the motion filed in U.S. federal court, the actor claimed that he did not misrepresent his case.
