LAWFUEL – The US Litigation News Service–WHAT: Browne Greene will give closing arguments on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 1:00 PM in Los Angeles Superior Court/Stanley Mosk Courthouse, Department 36, 111 North Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA. 90012 in Remy Jimenez’ civil suit for sexual battery against retired Dole Asia Senior Vice President for Manufacturing and Logistics, Felipe Dabdoub. Ms. Jimenez alleges that she was the victim of a continuing series of rapes, sexual assault and physical abuse by Felipe Dabdoub that lasted for approximately 13 years while she was employed in the Dabdoub household as a nanny/housekeeper. She seeks general and punitive damages.

The trial began on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 and is being heard before the Hon. Gregory Alarcon. Plaintiff Remy Jimenez is represented by Browne Greene with the Santa Monica, CA. law firm of Greene Broillet & Wheeler, LLP and Douglas N. Silverstein and Brian Kesluk with the Los Angeles, CA. law firm of Kesluk & Silverstein, P.C. Remy Jimenez vs. Felipe Dabdoub and Evelyn Dabdoub, Case No. BC340236.

WHO: Plaintiff Remy Jimenez filed suit in September 2002 against Felipe Dabdoub for sexual battery and sexual harassment. She also alleges that Mr. Dabdoub failed to pay her wages or to pay her minimum wage, among other claims.

In 1992, Remy Jimenez, then age 22, was hired by the Dabdoubs as a nanny for their newborn child to work in the Dabdoub home, which at that time was in the Philippines where Felipe Dabdoub was employed as a Senior Vice President for Dole Foods. She was the live-in nanny and housekeeper for the Dabdoubs over the approximately 13 years of her employment with the Dabdoub family, and was the primary care giver for the Dabdoubs’ three children.

In 2001, Ms. Jimenez moved with the Dabdoubs to Westlake Village, CA. when Felipe Dabdoub was transferred to Dole’s corporate headquarters which are based there. Ms. Jimenez alleges that all throughout her employment, Felipe Dabdoub repeatedly raped, sexually assaulted and molested her, and threatened that if she told anyone about what happened, something bad would happen to her, she would be arrested, and he would see to it that she would never see her family again. Mr. Dabdoub also used Remy’s love and sense of duty to his children to compel her not to report his alleged unlawful conduct.
