Sheffield – 23 September – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Outsourcing and technology specialist Cameron Craig has joined DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary UK LLP (“DLA Piper”), as a partner.
Cameron, who joins the award winning Technology, Media and Communications (TMC) department of DLA Piper’s Sheffield office, worked as a chartered engineer before moving to a career in law and his practice has retained a technical focus.
He specialises in outsourcing and technology-enabled contracts and related regulatory matters such as data protection and also has extensive experience in advising on local and multi-jurisdictional outsourcings (including IT, financial services, pensions and telecommunications) and system/service procurement contracts (including development, integration and O&M).
Cameron comes to the DLA Piper Sheffield office from magic circle firm Linklaters which he joined as a trainee back in 1994.
Commenting on his appointment Cameron said: “I am delighted to be joining a leading and ambitious firm such as DLA Piper, particularly with its excellent client base and proven track record in the field of TMC. I have for some time been very impressed with DLA Piper’s practical, client facing approach.
“My new role includes bolstering the private sector outsourcing in the north of England which will complement Richard Bonner’s thriving public sector work.”
Cameron’s former clients have included BP, Innovene, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, BT, Hewlett Packard, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays, the Office of Government Commerce and the Local Government Information House.
He is also a regular speaker on legal issues relating to IT and outsourcing and has also advised on internet-rated issues such as e-commerce, data protection and on-line procurement.
