“Star Trek” star Chris Pine has received a DUI conviction in New Zealand for driving with excessive blood alcohol.
The actor, who has been in New Zealand filming a movie and was picked up by local police after attending a film “wrap party”. In New Zealand any driver of 20 years or older cannot drive with a blood alcohol level of over 100 mls.
He was disqualified from driving in New Zealand for six months, which will have no practical effect given he lives in LA, and ordered to pay the grand sum of NZD93.00. Mr Pine had, however, made a substantial donationi to a local charity, Cure Kids, which the judge acknowledged was substantially beyond any amount she would have fined him.
